Travel shows are a great way to find inspiration for your next trip, learn about a dream destination and even bag yourself a fantastic deal. It’s that time of year again and Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show is just around the corner. Check out why you should visit this year and what you can expect to find at the show. Trust me, it’s well worth it!
Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show
The Essential Event for Travel Inspiration
Olympia London, 1st – 4th February 2018

It’s the UK’s largest and longest-running travel event
There will be over 550 travel brands at Destinations in 2018! The show will be packed with leading and independent tour operators, over 70 tourist boards from across the globe, vibrant entertainment and street food experiences from around the world. Make sure to allow for enough time to explore everything the show has to offer!

Exclusive show-only offers
With so many exhibitors at the show, there will be plenty to keep you busy. In addition, hundreds of them will be offering exclusive offers, promos and competitions especially for the show. You can grab a bargain or try your luck to win some cool prizes! Here’s a sneak peak at some of the best offers you’ll be able to access at the show! I can’t wait to book my next trip at Destinations.

Over 50 hours of free expert talks and panel sessions
The Meet The Experts Theatres will be playing host to expert talks covering all corners of the globe. From travelling along the Old Silk Road and exploring Bolivia’s lowlands to uncovering incredible cuisines on European food tours, there will be something for everyone here. I will be looking to go to as many talks as I can!

Experience The World stages
If you want to experience incredible cultures, food and entertainment from all over the world, three Experience The World stages are just the ticket. There will be free food samples, mesmerising cultural performances and interactive displays. From soju rice wine tasting to traditional Nicaraguan dance displays, there will be plenty to see and do. You will find me trying all the delicious food around the show!

Meet some of your favourite travel personalities
The 2018 show will also play host to the Stanfords Travel Writers Festival – a programme of inspirational and entertaining talks from explorers, adventurers, travel writers and TV personalities. It’s the UK’s only dedicated travel writers festival and visitors will be able to hear from some of their favourite travel personalities. The 2018 line-up includes Rick Stein, Charley Boorman (YAY!), Levison Wood (DOUBLE YAY!) and many more.

Get inspired for your next adventure with stunning photography
Don’t forget to check out the beautiful images in the Wanderlust Travel Photo of the Year Gallery. It’s the UK’s biggest amateur travel photography competition and there have been some incredible entries in past years. You can see who will scoop the £3000 prize and a photographic commission to Costa Rica when the winners are announced on Friday 2nd February!

Descent of the Ukukus by Christopher Roche (http://www.chrisrochephotographer.co.uk/) was the winner of last year’s competition
Travel Photography Masterclasses
After checking out the competition, you’ll probably be inspired to pick up your camera and head off on your next adventure. There will be daily photography masterclasses at the show – aimed at both beginners and advanced photographers! It’s not too late to grab your place so head over to the show website to book your spot! All masterclasses cost £30.
I try and make it to the show every year and I LOVE it. Let me know if you’re going to to the show and don’t forget to say hello!

January 31, 2018 at 5:29 amNice one – looks like a decent show with plenty to see. Sadly I won’t be back in the UK until later in the year so will have to give it a miss. It’s a shame though because I going to stuff like this.

January 31, 2018 at 7:22 amIf I were still in the UK, I would definitely be visiting this show , you get a lot for your money and it’s very reasonably priced! So much inspiration for ideas can be gained just by spending a day here, that on top of meeting up with your peers means visiting this show is a win-win if you ask me! Enjoy this year’s show and I’m looking forward to hearing about it afterwards #feetdotravel

January 31, 2018 at 1:03 pmI think it would be so cool to attend this show. I’d definitely do the photography class! There’s a travel show coming to Denver this year and I’d love to go to that one since it’s nearby, but the timing isn’t great 🙁
