With technology now allowing us to carry whole libraries with us anywhere we go, is there still a place in our luggage for a good old travel guide? I know some people that won’t leave their house without one and others who prefer to not lug heavy books around with them.
So I’ve turned 30 a couple of months back and I must be having some sort of a crisis because I’ve been thinking about what I’m doing with my life. I have quite a few plans for the next ten years, namely to visit 60 countries before I turn 40 but at the rate I am going, I might need to be a bit more ambitious!
We have all wanted to bring a slice of paradise back from our travels. A small piece of a faraway land, a memory encapsulated in an object. Something to remind us of our trip and make us vow to return.
When I travelled through South East Asia, I picked up loads of friendships bracelets from every place I visited to remind me of where I’ve been.
We all have our reasons for wanting to go to a faraway place, experience a new culture or enjoy a different cuisine. But what goes through our mind when we pass up on a destination or eliminate it from our shortlist?

Welcome to Travel Lexx. What’s this, I hear you ask? Well, I am Lexx and I love travelling – pretty simple really! Since I last posted something on this blog, I’ve been fortunate enough to travel around 4 continents, meet people from all over the world and see some incredible places.
