Bridges have always fascinated me, from ropes stretching across rushing rivers and deep canyons to great feats of modern engineering linking entire countries together. There are some incredible bridges in all corners of the world and I’ve put together my top 5 from the ones I’ve had the pleasure of seeing first hand.
Love Your Luggage
You’ve settled on your perfect trip, saving money is going well and you can’t wait to get going. You’re wishing time would go quicker and bring you closer to your adventure. Buying something for your trip can sometimes make this wait a little easier.
I don’t really do resolutions. I have never smoked and only drink socially – so nothing I need to quit. I eat relatively healthily and don’t feel like I need to cut down on anything. I exercise up to 6 days a week – and yes, I will put my hands up, I am not that happy about newbies invading my gym (but it’s ok, they will be gone in about 5 weeks, never to be seen again).
So just like that, 2015 is over. Hopefully you have all had a fantastic break but now that 2016 has drifted around the corner, tyres screeching, we can all get back to the business of planning more awesome travels!
But before I embrace the new year completely, here is a quick look back at 2015:
January: I escaped the cold London weather and headed for the warm climes of Australia for a 2 week break in Melbourne and Sydney.
I love food. One of the reasons I love travelling is being able to sample some incredible dishes around the world, made from fresh ingredients and using recipes passed down through generations.
Food markets are also always high on my list of places to visit, as this is where you are likely to find in-the-know locals enjoying great food at reasonable prices (not hiked up for tourists).
I would like to wish everyone an amazing Christmas and a happy upcoming New Year. Eat, drink, be merry and plan some travel!
Thank you for all the support over the last few months and here’s to a great 2016!
The plane glided past snow-capped peaks and sleepy mountain villages as the thick clouds lingered below. The early morning sun lit up the Dolomite valleys and canyons and I made a mental note to try and spend some time in this beautiful mountainous region of Italy one day.
I’ve talked about my love for travel shows before and I am quite excited about the two shows that are coming up at the beginning of 2016.
First up, on the 23-24th January, is the Adventure Travel Show. Taking place at Olympia, London it will give visitors an opportunity to book their ideal adventure trip and a chance to attend loads of talks and seminars.
I looked up at the sign again. I was on the right platform – at least I hoped I was. Boarding the wrong bus or train is part and parcel of travelling but I haven’t yet been faced with a train that could take me to the wrong country.
