Trying all the delicious Japanese food is a highlight of any trip to the Land of the Rising Sun. There are so many different local and regional specialities that there is always something new to taste and discover. So here’s my list of the best Japanese food to have on your next visit!
Japan frequently appears on many travellers’ bucket lists. It’s a country rich in history, tradition and natural beauty. Arriving in Japan for the first time can be a little overwhelming – a different language, culture and a LOT of people. To help anyone planning their trip I’ve put together some essential tips for first time visitors to Japan from my recent travels.
Ok, first of all, an admission. I didn’t realise I would be spending Chinese New Year in Bangkok. To be honest, I didn’t even think about it when booking my flights. A few friends planned a trip to Thailand and, in a particularly spontaneous moment, I booked a ticket.
Known as the “Pearl of the Adriatic”, Dubrovnik is one of Europe’s most beautiful tourist destinations. Its stunning Old Town has been preserved for centuries and is steeped in history. Here is a list of some of the best things to see and do on your visit to the Moroccan capital. Let me know if I have missed anything out in my list of Marrakech sights in the comments!

There is no shortage of places to eat and drink in the Marrakech medina. From curb-side stalls selling bread and orange juice to open air restaurants serving the finest Moroccan food to upmarket cocktail bars, Marrakech medina has options for all tastes and budgets.
Much like Morocco itself, its cuisine combines traditional elements with outside influences which reflect the nation’s rich history. The indigenous Berber fare combines with flavours from Southern Europe and the Middle East to create a unique and tasty cuisine. While often imitated around the world, there is nothing like sampling its offerings among the locals, pulling up a pew at the lively Djemaa el-Fna square or grabbing a treat from a street stall.
