We have all wanted to bring a slice of paradise back from our travels. A small piece of a faraway land, a memory encapsulated in an object. Something to remind us of our trip and make us vow to return.
When I travelled through South East Asia, I picked up loads of friendships bracelets from every place I visited to remind me of where I’ve been. Time and wear and tear have slowly destroyed all of them but one that I picked up in Vietnam. Or in Borneo. I actually can’t remember!
Recently I stumbled upon El Camino Bracelets – a small UK start-up selling stylish handmade travel bracelets. They can be customised any way you like with small “steps” – beads engraved with names of countries, cities and regions from all over the world.
It’s a simple idea but really well executed and wearing one of these is bound to get questions from fellow travellers.
I just really love the idea and just wanted to spread the word. Oh and don’t forget to follow them on Twitter too!
